WOOD OF ONES OWN (PB)

On discovering the Somerset Levels in the late 1990s, Ruth Pavey was enchanted by the beauty of this reclaimed land and set out to realise her long-held dream of planting a wood. Over the years, tree by tree, she transformed four acres into a haven where woodland plants and creatures could flourish. Interwoven with Pavey's candid descriptions of the practical challenges she faced are forays into the Levels' local history, as well as thoughtful portraits of its inhabitants both past and present.
