As one of the major ports in Britain, Liverpool has witnessed the comings and goings of people from all corners of the world. Over the centuries, this melting pot of nations has given rise to what we now think of as a typical scouser. In this volume the author has tried not to present the reader with facts and figures, diagrams and statistics that usually form an integral part of an academic history, but to concentrate on the 'story' or romance of Liverpool's evolution over the years.
