Description
In the late 1790s, Coleridge, Wordsworth and his sister Dorothy spent a year together in the Quantock Hills. Out of that time and experience came The Ancient Mariner and ‘Kubla Khan’, Wordsworth’s revolutionary verses in Lyrical Ballads and ‘Tintern Abbey’. This book explores the idea that these poems came from this place, and that only by experiencing the physical circumstances of the year, in all weathers and all seasons, can the genesis of the poetry begin to be understood.
