TUMSHIE: THE FORGOTTEN HALLOWEEN TURNIP LANTERN (PB)

Back in the day, a Scottish Hallowe'en meant guising and dooking and carving out a tumshie for a lantern - a rite of passage requiring the strength of an ox and the stubbornness of a donkey. In this picture book, a father and son in a small Scottish town share stories of the old days, rediscover the joys of making their own Hallowe'en lanterns, and create a crocodile from cardboard, a bike helmet, welly boots, string and ping-pong balls for eyes, before going out guising.
