GLASGOW EFFECT (REVISED)

In today’s world, the privileged few rack up huge carbon footprints chasing work in a global economy; others, trapped in a cycle of poverty caused by deindustrialisation and austerity, cannot even afford the bus fare into town. Artist Ellie Harrison draws on her own life’s trajectory to examine the relationship between literal and social mobility, and puts forward her vision for the sustainable city of the future, in which we can all live happy, healthy and creative lives. With a new call to action introduction for 2021 as Glasgow hosts the COP26 United Nations Climate Change Conference.
