Taking his lead from Phineas Fogg, David Damrosch decided to counter the pandemic’s travel restrictions by exploring eighty exceptional books from around the globe. Following a literary itinerary from London to Venice, Tehran and points beyond, and through authors as varied as Woolf, Dante, Orhan Pamuk, Wole Soyinka, Mo Yan and Olga Tokarczuk, he explores how the world continues to shape and be shaped by the stories we tell about it.
