NORDIC THEORY OF EVERYTHING (PB)

Nordic countries are world leaders in organising society with an enviable work-life balance. It was therefore a major culture shock for journalist Anu Partanen when she moved to America. Basic activities, from buying a mobile phone to filing taxes, were much more complicated. As Partanen got to know her new neighbours, she discovered that they shared her deep apprehensions. She set out to understand why society in much of the Western world is organised in such a convoluted way - and propose a Nordic solution.
