QUEENS GREEN CANOPY (HB)

A showcase of ancient trees and woodlands dedicated in honour of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Photographs taken across the seasons are accompanied by extended captions telling the stories of the featured trees, and there are short pieces by supporters of the QGC initiative including Alan Titchmarsh, Danny Clarke, Adam Henson, Judi Dench and Joanna Lumley. Subjects include Isaac Newton’s alleged apple tree, yews at Stow-on-the-Wold which inspired Tolkien, the woodland immortalised by A A Milne, and the 2,500-year-old tree where Henry VIII is believed to have proposed to Anne Boleyn.
