YEAR IN STORY AND SONG: A CELEBRATION OF THE SEASONS (HB)

The seasons give us many opportunities for storytelling: the full moons and their various names; Epiphany in January and St Patrick's Day in March; May Day, Midsummer, Halloween and many other celebrations. In this collection are tales featuring mischievous boggarts and fairies, saints and sailors, leprechauns and dragons, pilgrimages and charms, milk maids and rose queens, Robin Hood and the green man. The songs encompass shanties and love songs, bawdy ballads and wassails, carols and rounds, some of them hundreds of years old.
