Description
Over three stays in London between 1899 and 1901, Claude Monet began a series of paintings depicting Charing Cross Bridge, Waterloo Bridge and the Houses of Parliament. Unveiled in 1904, they presented extraordinary views of the Thames: full of evocative atmospheres, mysterious light and radiant colours. Monet’s ambition to show them together in London was never realised – until now. Published to accompany a major exhibition at The Courtauld Gallery, this richly illustrated volume includes 21 entries and four original essays that shed new light on this famous series.
