This Scottish children's classic story relates the Highland Clearances from the viewpoint of one family, vividly bringing to life a significant event in Scotland's history. Ten-year-old twins Kirsty and David Murray love their crofting life in the north of Scotland, then one day the Countess's men come and burn their house, saying they must leave.
