ARDNISH WAS HOME

Set in the West Highlands of Scotland and Gallipoli during the First World War, this is a moving love story and engaging account of early twentieth-century Highland life based on stories passed down through the author's family. A young piper, Donald Peter (DP) Gillies, brought up in a remote community in the West Highlands, signs up to join the famous Lovat Scouts and he and his childhood friend are destined for the horrors of Gallipoli and the deprivation of the First World War.
